Well, not any more. The evil Sauron abandoned his nefarious plans for Middle Earth after getting his ass kicked by a couple of hobbits, a half-dead wizard, some barely organized horsemen and a girl. After that debacle he couldn't hold his head up in the presence villians like Cruella de Ville or Snidely Whiplash. His humliation was complete when Skeletor and the Joker joined forces and literally laughed him out of his seat at the last Evil Emmy Awards. Bereft of whole universes to pillage, Sauron went into politics to salvage his reputation. However, even in a milleu where no one suspects he even exists he makes the same poor choices in his agents.

A recent case in point are the BATFEces. Intended to be vanguard facilitators of the New and Improved Mordor on the Potomac, they prove so inept they cannot even smuggle a few hundred guns into Mexico without getting caught.

ATF is Seizing Toy Guns

A local business owner is flabbergasted after a shipment of 30 toy guns for his store was confiscated by ATF agents in Tacoma.

There may be a method to this madness. Do not forget that airsoft toys are used in force-on-force exercises which, I've been told, make the training more realistic. If true, then training with airsoft toys improves a citizen's chances of survival in certain deadly force encounters.

So which do you think the BATFEces want to go up against: A citzen with delusions of being Rambo or one with a more realistic attitude about gunfighting?

BATFE, Austin PD and the Gun Show

According to this posting at Whose paranoid are you, the fallout from the pressure put on Darwin Boedecker and the Austin Gun Show is embarrassing the even to the management at BATFE.

Nevertheless, as I said earlier, words like despised, flat out hated, and psycho is what I heard by the little bird. In fact, I made it a point to ask SPECIFICALLY if I heard correctly and was informed YES! Also heard that he is a headhunter, always looking for GLORY and the limelight- has to BE on top.

If true then what will the BATFEces do about it?
