Son of a Liberty's Bitch!

About a year ago I had one of those strange, vivid dreams that sticks in my memory and won't go away. In it I traveled through time to speak to Mike Vanderboegh about a matter of great importance. I established my bona fides with him by predicting the precise prices of some volatile stocks over a period of two or three weeks (it's a dream, OK? details from the subconscious can be a bit sketchy). Mr. Vanderboegh then asked me about the future. I told him, "The good news is, your side wins."

"What's the bad news?", he asked me with a grin.

"Your side wins."

Yeah, it's an old joke -- I know that. Still, the recent brouhaha between Vanderboegh and Kerodin reminds me of it. I am honestly beginning to wonder if it really matters any more whether we win this thing or not. Maybe I'll follow the lead of my buddy over on Living in Babylon and stock up on Ganja (do you guys still call it that?) then crawl inside a drug induced haze while the the assholes of the world fart in the general direction of each other.

Maybe tomorrow after the Southern Comfort wears off I'll feel differently.

Threeper versus Threeper?

Over at Sipsey Street in the comments to the entry entitled The messy interface of church, state and the First Amendment in NM an anonymous reader writes at 3:43 PM:

I have little doubt that a lot of christians would happily see every atheist and probably more than a few of their fellow believers who do it "wrong" dead and "sardine packed". Twice in my life I've been threatened by christians who mistook "atheist" to mean "pacifist" or "unarmed". In both cases the appearance of Messrs. Smith and Wesson convinced them they were wrong on both counts,

Maybe they weren't quite ready to meet Jeebus.

Assuming some JBT doesn't do the job for you, any believers tempted to simplify things for your god by ridding the planet of this pesky atheist had better plan on backshooting or bushwacking me. Otherwise bring lots of friends and plenty of ammunition because -- win, lose or draw -- it will be a long fucking day. I'm already planning to hold a few cases of ammo in reserve just in case you go as stupid as the shit some of you talk.

I hope you're right, Mr. Vanderboegh, and your fellow believers will not indulge in a bit of cleansing. In which happy case I remind you that, "One man's theology is another man's belly laugh." Tickling will not be required.

How is Rape a Libertarian Behavior?

Mike then asks, "Kindly explain the libertarian principles embodied by these."

I don't get what imagined libertarian principle he is trying to illustrate here. US and Mexican law insure that anyone from Mexico trying to cross the border without the proper "papers" must seek help from outside the law. The logistics of smuggling large numbers of people requires a substantial infrastructure meaning that organized groups are better able to provide the service.

Human smuggling does not have to be a dirty, evil business. During World War II, Catholics risked imprisonment and death to help Jews get to neutral Switzerland or, when lucky, to the United States. Before the US Civil War, the Quakers established safe houses for runaway slaves heading north to Canada. This network eventually what we today know as the 'Underground Railroad."

Last time I checked, the groups smuggling people from Mexico are not Catholics or Quakers but criminal gangs whose members routinely ignore the common human decencies. That they behave like vicious criminals is unsurprising. How this equates to "libertarian" is, frankly, a mystery to me.

The libertarian solution to rape is to arm the potential victims and their guardians. However, the criminal friendly gun laws law on both sides of the border makes that a difficult proposition bordering on the impossible. It is no surprise to me that career criminals plus unarmed victims yields a bad outcome.

Oh My God! They're EVERYWHERE!

Mike Vanderboegh has a suggestion for all the three percent: Get a job

With the IRS.

Nancy Pelosi has given us a great opportunity in the new "Health Care" Law. She's hiring some 16,000 plus new Internal Revenue agents to enforce her tyranny. So, why can't some of those be Three Percenters? I mean, there's a bunch of us out of work, yet we have clean records and skills that would dovetail nicely with those required of an IRS agent. Hey, we would also have the advantage of actually meaning it when they swear us in -- you know, that oath to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic."

Indeed, while the private sector is shrinking, government at most levels is still growing, so the IRS is not the only agency that could benefit from dozens, hundreds, thousands of Ned Broy's.

I am leaning strongly toward this being the Administration playing the brinksmanship game. One side breaks a few windows; the Feddies respond with a show of force.

Those Ignorant of History...

In a fact deficient article entitled "Mike Vanderboegh asks Americans to vandalize Democratic party offices everywhere." the author claims that,

Free speech is one thing, but when you call for a campaign of organized vandalism against a political party and there are some people at various locations within the USA who are acting on that suggestion (five broken windows counted at Dem party offices nationwide this week) , shouldn't law enforcement get interested in you? Talk is one thing, but talk that requests ACTION is something else.

I recall a certain event in Germany in the 1930s that helped usher in the rule of the Nazi party: they called it Kristalnacht.

Kristallnacht was one name given to the vandalism committed by National Socialist Party supporters on the night of November 9 to 10, 1938. This was over five years after Hitler was sworn in as Chancellor on January 30, 1933. It did not help "usher in the rule" of the Nazis; it was an act of the ruling party directed against those it intended to destroy.

The "Window War" is not even close to being a Kristalnacht. The idiots claiming it is are grasping at fact-deprived straws: When the Democrats send Acorn (or its successor) to kick down doors, break windows and arrest people then they will have a historical parallel.

And those screaming about it now will, most likely, be cheering.

Open Letter to Law Enforcement

Mike Vanderboegh over at Sipsey Steet Irregulars has written a very good appeal to American Law Enforcement entitled “Choose this day whom you will serve.”: An Open Letter to American Law Enforcement.

 Read it.  Spread it around.

Frankly I don't think it will do much good because the overwhelming majority of LEOs will drink whatever Kool Aid they must to keep getting the King's gold.  However, honor demands that something like this be tried and, just maybe, a few LEOs will remember what it means to take an oath.

Mike Vanderboegh Rattles Some Cages
